Although the Double Circle Squat Wedge sells its primary function as a way to go deeper when squatting, the reality is this type of product does so much more. Besides working as a great calf stretch, it’s also great for performing better calf-building exercises, providing a greater range of motion and an ideal angle.
Although there is some debate on whether or not you should in fact be squatting with your heels elevated – I personally fall into the camp against it – the versatility of this device beyond that shouldn’t be overestimated. I know for me and my home gym, it’s quickly become a valued addition to my calf-building arsenal.
The pair of wedges themselves feature a sturdy metal construction with built-in top treads, anti-slip rubber bumpers on the bottom, and built-in hand-holds. There are even slots under each platform for resistance bands, though of course you’ll want to make sure you’re standing on the wedges before doing any band-based workouts.
