Review: Bett3r Delights Keto Collagen Brownies
With 15 grams of collagen-based protein and 3 grams of net carbs in a 50 gram, 278 calorie single serving, the Bett3r Delights Keto Collagen Brownies certainly have good stats. But what about the taste?
Having tried the variety pack, which includes The Blondie, Choco Choco, and Velvety Red, I can say that unfortunately, the taste doesn’t complement the impressive low-carb, no sugar nutritional makeup.
The Choco Choco, which is the classic chocolate fudge brownie style, lacks a lot of flavor and tasted and felt a bit stale, although it definitely wasn’t. It was missing most of the moisture that goes a long way to helping a baked product taste good and was far more crumbly than the other two flavors. Frankly, if you can’t make a basic chocolate your most delicious version of the product, there’s probably an issue.
The Velvety Red, which is a red velvet concoction, has a nice flavor overall. It still seems a bit stale (although holds together much better than the Choco Choco), and the flavor profile is still mild, but it’s the best tasting of the bunch should I be forced to choose.
The Blondie, a vanilla-flavored brownie, was nearly as good as the Velvety Red, but had a slight aftertaste.
Unfortunately, all three failed the taste test with my wife and three daughters. I ate what remained, but honestly didn’t enjoy it. While I appreciate the relatively healthy stats and that these might do well in a pinch, it would be not be something I’d look forward to.
