Although these Glucerna 30g Protein Shakes are primarily designed to provide support for people with diabetes, the nutritional facts make it a good choice for a regular protein shake. In each single 11 fluid ounce serving you get 150 calories, 1.5 grams of total fat (0.5 grams of saturated), 7 grams of total carbs (4 grams as dietary fiber, 3 grams of total sugars (including 2 grams of added sugars)), as well as 30 grams of protein. There are also a host of vitamins and minerals.
As always, it’s the taste that matters with these things. The Homemade Vanilla is a bit on the thin side, but does have a smooth, creamy mouth feel. It definitely tastes like vanilla, although it does have a slightly metallic aftertaste. It’s not my favorite flavor, but it’s something I could certainly drink in a pinch.
I personally tend to like more calories in my protein shakes (like with my preferred Labrada Lean Body) because I like to use it as a breakfast. With that said, so few calories for such relatively high protein is really impressive, so these would make for an ideal snack. Even if you’re not a diabetic, it’s easy to recommend these protein shakes.
