I’m a big fan of eBooks, so was happy to get the full-blown Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition with 6.8″ display. It’s a fantastic device that truly does make reading easy under a variety of conditions. However, it’s not the most comfortable to hold, nor is it in any way protected when you toss it in a bag. Fortunately, the CoBak Kindle Paperwhite Case for any 2021 release of the 6.8″ Kindle Paperwhite provides the perfect solution and makes an already great product even better.
I chose the Astrolabe Dark Blue cover. It’s as striking in person as it is in the photo. It has a really nice, classy look with nice leather and interior texturing. My Kindle fits perfectly in it and the magnet that keeps the case closed also automatically wakes and sleeps the device, so there’s no more need to press the power button on or off. You open the cover and the Kindle goes on. Nice and simple.
When you fold over the cover, the magnet keeps it in place, so it doesn’t flop around. That’s nice enough on its own, but this also creates a thicker, more comfortable handhold for the Kindle, making handheld reading even more comfortable.
Overall, this is an amazing case. It has a great look and feel, and all of the functions are still accessible. You can even wirelessly charge with the cover on, so you’ll never have to take it off if you don’t want to (although I did still have trouble with some wireless chargers versus others, as the Kindle itself still remains awkward to place). If you do want to take it, though, it’s easy enough to pull the Kindle out.
If you want a case that makes it easier to hand hold the Kindle and looks good doing it, the CoBak is a winner. About the only thing it doesn’t offer is a kickstand, but that’s not something I’m looking for with this type of device anyway.
