I’ve been using a mouse jiggler, mouse mover, mouse wiggler, or whatever you choose to call it for six months now with excellent results. It’s a simple solution to stop your computer from going to sleep. You simply place your optical wired or wireless mouse on the top of the unit and it automatically moves the onscreen cursor. Now, VKAROOD is back with a next generation model, available in black or white. I’m reviewing the black.
What struck me right out of the box is that this new model is at least 25% less wide and maybe a third as deep as the previous model. At its widest points, it’s only about 4.72 inches (119 mm). In short, it’s amazing how much thinner and smaller it is versus the previous generation of these devices. It’s genuinely “ultra slim” in comparison and arguably can’t be made any more compact while still doing what it’s supposed to.
After plugging in the included white USB-C to USB-A cable (standard 5V1A USB power is required), I also noted that the VKAROOD Mouse Jiggler‘s LED lights are brighter than the previous generation. Just like before, with the dedicated button you can cycle through red, green, blue, yellow, cyan, and pink, or turn the lights off entirely.
There’s also a power button, play/pause button, and timer button. The latter button lets you set a timer for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours of runtime versus always on until you press the power or pause buttons.
A final note is that my previous device made a clicking sound when spinning its center disk. That was mildly annoying. This version? Whisper quiet. I suspect part of the quieter operation is the simple fact that the center disk rotates slower.
Do I think this new version is worth it? Absolutely. It’s smaller, brighter, and quieter. In short, it’s an improvement in every way over the previous generation of mouse jigglers.
