Bias lighting, or adding an LED backlight, for behind your television, is one of the best ways to keep your eyes comfortable when watching TV in a darkened room. And not only does it help enhance eye comfort, it’s argued that it can make the grays, blacks, and contrast on your TV screen look even better. I know I’m a fan of the concept, but in the past, the bias lighting I’ve used, which has typically been LED light strips, hasn’t been the best, particularly with the “staying put on the back on the TV” part. Fortunately, the UltraPro Bias Lighting Backlight Bracket, as the name implies, does a superior job of staying put on your television.

You see, instead of taping an LED lightstrip to the back of your TV, the UltraPro simply rests from the top of the back of the television. You then plug the USB power cable into the USB port on your TV (most modern sets have at least one), and every time you power on the television, it shines a 6500K backlight. It’s a nice, soft light, and does a great job setting off our 75-inch television. If for some reason you want the bias light off, there’s also a discrete On/Off button.

Setup is plug and play.

There’s not much else to say about the UltraPro. It does a great job accommodating large televisions and the bracket system is ingenious and non-intrusive. Unless you have a particularly thin television without a sufficient “shelf” to rest the bracket on, this is a great option. Overall, this is the best inexpensive bias lighting system I’ve ever tried.
