Wireless microphones for mobile devices tend to be bulky or go too easily out-of-sync. The TecMad Wireless Lavalier Microphone for iPhones or iPads with the original Lightning connector bucks the trend by being sleek and compact, staying in sync, and being super easy to use, all for a fair price.

It’s a nice package.

In the box, you get the charging case with the receiver and transmitter, USB-C charging cable, fuzzy windscreen, and instructions. It’s packaged well, with everything giving off a premium vibe.

Setup is super simple. Plug in the receiver on the bottom of the iPhone or iPad, then, when the green light is solid on the transmitter, remove it from the case and attach it to your shirt or other appropriate place. You’re then ready to use whatever audio or video recording app you use normally.

A closer look at the good stuff.

The sound capture is clear with the built-in omnidirectional microphone. In short, it works great, with zero synchronization issues that are typical for these types of wireless devices. You can’t hear while you’re recording – or after – so it’s not good for those who need that feature, but you can return normal sound output by simply unplugging the receiver.
