<p><br>A new study in <em><a href="https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fnut.2024.1366409/full" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Frontiers in Nutrition</a> </em>indicates that artificial sweetener <a href="https://www.neotame.com/products/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">neotame</a> may negatively regulate the intestinal epithelium directly through T1R3-signaling and indirectly through pathogenic changes to model gut bacteria. While recent studies have indicated considerable health risks associated with the consumption of artificial sweeteners, there hasn&#8217;t been as much study on neotame, which has been used in foodstuffs since FDA approval in 2002. What follows are the results, direct from the study, which is part of the research topic, <strong>Noncaloric Artificial Sweeteners and their Impact On Human Health</strong>.</p>

<p><strong>Results:</strong> Our findings show that neotame causes intestinal epithelial cell apoptosis and death with siRNA knockdown of T1R3 expression significantly attenuating the neotame-induced loss to cell viability. Similarly, neotame exposure results in barrier disruption with enhanced monolayer leak and reduced claudin-3 cell surface expression through a T1R3-dependent pathway. Using the gut bacteria models, <em>E. coli</em> and <em>E. faecalis</em>, neotame significantly increased biofilm formation and metabolites of <em>E. coli</em>, but not <em>E. faecalis</em>, reduced Caco-2 cell viability. In co-culture studies, neotame exposure increased adhesion capacity of <em>E. coli</em> and <em>E. faecalis</em> onto Caco-2 cells and invasion capacity of <em>E. coli</em>. Neotame-induced biofilm formation, <em>E.coli</em>-specific Caco-2 cell death, adhesion and invasion was identified to be meditated through a taste-dependent pathway.</p>

<p>As a natural recreational <a href="https://fullsteamahead365.com/2021/09/14/review-manueklear-arm-blaster/">bodybuilder</a> closing in on 50, I need to take my nutrition seriously. One of several areas I focus on is nutrition during a workout, and branched-chain aminos, or BCAAs, are still considered the gold standard in that area. With the <a href="https://amzn.to/3wEveBR">VMI Sports Aminogex Ultra</a>, you not only get BCAAs, but also essential amino acids, or EAAs, as well as Betaine and Glutamine, the latter of which I supplement with separately already.</p>

<p>This type of product can also be used pre- and post-workout, and in fact, the directions suggest taking up to two scoops a day, but one scoop at separate times. Again, for me, I like to sip something like this during my workout and do other things pre- and post-workout, but either way, this type of supplement is quite flexible.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/2021-11-12-10.35.09.jpg?resize=640%2C480&#038;ssl=1" alt="It mixes well and has a pleasing flavor." class="wp-image-5521" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/2021-11-12-10.35.09.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/2021-11-12-10.35.09.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/2021-11-12-10.35.09.jpg?resize=768%2C576&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/2021-11-12-10.35.09.jpg?resize=1536%2C1152&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/2021-11-12-10.35.09.jpg?w=1920&amp;ssl=1 1920w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/2021-11-12-10.35.09.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /><figcaption>It mixes well and has a pleasing flavor.</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The one I&#8217;m reviewing is the Miami Vice flavor. When you open the canister, there&#8217;s not much of a scent, which is actually a good thing. I&#8217;m always suspicious when I&#8217;m overpowered by flavoring odors. This mildness transfers over to the taste. The one level scoop mixes easy in either 8- or 16-ounces of water (I prefer more the former than the latter), and even if in just 8 ounces of water you&#8217;re hit with mild tropical flavors, with hints of coconut and pineapple standing out the most in the flavor profile. The scoop also has an extra-long handle for reaching down the bottom of the canister, although this can be a bit of an annoyance when trying to reclose the canister with more of the product still in it.</p>

<p>Aminogex Ultra is vegan and is sweetened with sucralose. The calories are negligible for something like this, but the nutritional profile is high. The estimate is about 30 scoops/servings per container.</p>

<p>Overall, I appreciate all the nutrition that&#8217;s packed into this product in well-thought-out ratios. I also appreciate the mild flavor profile. Versus some other products in this category that overpower you with sweetness, there&#8217;s more subtleness to the blend, although as with many of these products, the flavor profile builds the more you drink the serving. If you&#8217;re looking for a good EAA/BCAA blend, this is a great choice.</p>

<p>Although these <a href="https://amzn.to/3j0fVOi">Glucerna 30g Protein Shakes</a> are primarily designed to provide support for people with diabetes, the nutritional facts make it a good choice for a regular protein shake. In each single 11 fluid ounce serving you get 150 calories, 1.5 grams of total fat (0.5 grams of saturated), 7 grams of total carbs (4 grams as dietary fiber, 3 grams of total sugars (including 2 grams of added sugars)), as well as 30 grams of protein. There are also a host of vitamins and minerals.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-12-00.58.28.jpg?resize=640%2C480&#038;ssl=1" alt="It comes in a case." class="wp-image-5336" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-12-00.58.28.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-12-00.58.28.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-12-00.58.28.jpg?resize=768%2C576&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-12-00.58.28.jpg?resize=1536%2C1152&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-12-00.58.28.jpg?w=1920&amp;ssl=1 1920w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-12-00.58.28.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /><figcaption>It comes in a case.</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>As always, it&#8217;s the taste that matters with these things. The Homemade Vanilla is a bit on the thin side, but does have a smooth, creamy mouth feel. It definitely tastes like vanilla, although it does have a slightly metallic aftertaste. It&#8217;s not my favorite flavor, but it&#8217;s something I could certainly drink in a pinch.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img data-recalc-dims="1" loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-11-08.49.17.jpg?resize=640%2C480&#038;ssl=1" alt="Inside the case are individual 4 packs." class="wp-image-5335" srcset="https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-11-08.49.17.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-11-08.49.17.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-11-08.49.17.jpg?resize=768%2C576&amp;ssl=1 768w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-11-08.49.17.jpg?resize=1536%2C1152&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-11-08.49.17.jpg?w=1920&amp;ssl=1 1920w, https://i0.wp.com/fullsteamahead365.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/2021-10-11-08.49.17.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /><figcaption>Inside the case are individual 4 packs.</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>I personally tend to like more calories in my protein shakes (like with my preferred <a href="https://amzn.to/30pc72z">Labrada Lean Body</a>) because I like to use it as a breakfast. With that said, so few calories for such relatively high protein is really impressive, so these would make for an ideal snack. Even if you&#8217;re not a diabetic, it&#8217;s easy to recommend these protein shakes.</p>
