Although no one in my family is tattooed or is a particular fan of tattoos, the idea of temporary tattoos that you can create yourself sounded like too much fun to resist. While also not a fan of the New England Patriots, that was what was available, and since it’s only the team colors and a couple of stencils, the team type was not that important for these BodyMark by BIC Temporary Tattoo Markers (NFL Series) anyway.
In the package were three markers, blue, red, and white, and two stencils, one of the Patriots symbol and one of the logo. The marker tips are very soft and more like paintbrush heads than actual markers.
I created a star stencil on our laser cutter, since that’s what my seven year old wanted. Because of the lack of precision of the marker tip, I had to go over it by hand after removing the stencil. The results were not spectacular, but definitely nice enough for this type of product.
I then let my 7 year old freehand a snowman monster on my hand. She had fun doing it and it came out pretty good overall.
While this is not anything close to a perfect product, you can do some decent, basic work with the pens despite the inaccurate tips. Perhaps the best part is that the tattoos do come off with soap and water, although it can take a few washings to completely remove the body work. As long as you don’t expect miracles, it’s an inexpensive enough product to have some fun with.
