Inspired by a tweet by Megan Thompson-Munson (@GlacialMeg), Joshua Tauberer, Ph.D., created a fun iceberg simulator on his website. While it’s not a perfect simulation in that it doesn’t account for the three-dimensional distribution of mass, it’s still a great demonstration of how the popular conception of what’s below the “tip of the iceberg” is wrong. The best part is you can pretty much use any browser, desktop, mobile, or otherwise, to draw your own iceberg shape and see how it floats. It’s the perfect embodiment of what we stand for and love here at fullSTEAMahead365. Check out the simulator here.
